In 2016 Matei Zatreanu founded System2 on the belief that fundamental investing will be augmented by data-driven technology. Today our team represents a growing culmination of experience, a focus on how the data applies to the problem and solutions, and a constant quest for results.
OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
Matei Zatreanu, CEO & FOUNDER
Matei is the founder of System2. He previously started the data initiative of a $20bn hedge fund. Matei started his career in investment banking at Lehman Brothers.
Matei holds an M.A. in Mathematics from Columbia University and B.A.s in Psychology, Mathematics, Government, and Economics from Cornell University.
David Cheng, CTO & CO-FOUNDER
David is the co-founder of System2 with 21 years of experience building technology systems. He has worked at well-known firms like King Street Capital, Lehman Brothers, and Sapient.
David holds a degree in Computer Science from Cornell University.
Kevin Nutter, PARTNER
Kevin has been a partner at System2 since 2017. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Investment Analyst at Marinus Capital Advisors, LLC. He also worked at Ernst & Young.
Kevin holds an M.A. in Accounting and a B.B.A in Finance and Financial Management Services from the College of William and Mary, Mason School of Business.
Kelso Jacks, CHIEF OF STAFF
Kelso is the Chief of Staff at System2. She joined System2 after an 18-year-stint working on an advertising effectiveness solution. Starting as a survey writer at the startup that created it, she finished as Editorial Director and survived two sales of the product, including one to Nielsen where she was integral in bringing the tool to 15 markets outside of the US. Before that, she worked in the music industry as a writer/editor and in promotions at a record label.
